Microscopy

Today was my first time trying out confocal microscopy, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. Seeing stained cells through the microscope was pretty amazing. Unfortunately the camera doesn't capture the images quite as well as the human eye, but I wanted to share one of the pictures that I captured today.

Pretty picture, Amanda. I used to do a lot of LCMs and there was a confocal next to the scope I was using. It was fun to watch the images they'd produce on it.

Looks good, but remember that confocal images are always computer reconstructions (it's a scanning technique) so if the camera isn't "capturing" a good image, it's a matter of changing the settings. (When you look through the eyepiece, it's not a confocal image you're seeing.)

Fairly snapshot, Diablo 3 GoldAmanda. I did previously perform a large amount of LCMs and there would be a confocal near the extent I was utilizing. That it was exciting to lookGuild Wars 2 Gold at the photographs that they had make into it.
